About Amy

Hi There,

it's nice to meet you!

I have been creating art in some capacity for as long as I can remember, but I have been creating lampwork glass beads since 2005. I took my first class from Mary Karg in Loveland, OH, and never looked back! In addition to lampworking, I am exploring cloisonné and
enameling, and working to learn and improve my metal-smithing skills.

I'm a native Texan, spent 14 years in Ohio, and moved to the Atlanta area in 2011. I'm a mother of two young adults, a pilot's wife, an artist, and a recovering perfectionist.

I'm a member of the ISGB, The International Society of Glass Beadmakers. Out of all the artistic things I do, making glass beads is definitely the coolest, and I absolutely love it!

Education

As a native Texan, I’m proud to say I am also a Longhorn! I received my BS in Advertising from the University of Texas in 1991- Hook ‘em Horns! 🤘 In 1996 I received my MBA from St. Edward’s University in Austin. While a lot of my metal and jewelry skills are self taught, I have also taken some fantastic classes from Expert Beadmakers in the industry such as Mary Karg, Tink Martin, Kim Fields, Brad Pearson, Jim Smircich, Andrea Guarino-Slemmons, Trey Cornette, Melanie Moertel, Sylvie Lansdowne and, Jari Sheese. I have also taken cloisonné enameling from Ricky Frank and Sandra McEwen, color on metal with Deb Karash, enameling beads with Barbara Minor, and a few classes at Spruill Center for the Arts here in Atlanta.
