What’s so important about August 4th, you say? Well, that is the day that my studio remodel begins! YAY! I can’t even tell you how excited I am about FINALLY getting started on a studio here. We picked out the tile and paid for it a few days ago. We decided to carry the same tile throughout the basement, so it is a large 18” x 18” “slate-look” ceramic tile. I picked out this really cool accent tile to create a “rug” at the entrance door. It is going to be sweet!

So, I thought I’d show you the “before” photos of the room, before it becomes my studio. We’ve already begun on the ventilation, as you can see:

Fresh air intake

This is my fresh air intake-it replaces opening my dining room window in my old studio! Just ignore the other little cut square in the wall—they were trying to find a good place to cut through the brick!

Here is the corner of the room where the beadmaking will take place. You can see the exterior door, and the (only!) windows in the basement.

Here is my view while I will be torching:view outside the studio
I think I need to plant some pretty flowers to look at!

Here is the door and the closet that will be going away soon:

And here is the beautiful tray ceiling!tray ceiling

When you come to visit me, (if you are in the Atlanta area!) you will come here:Studio Entrance

But I am sure I will find a way to make this look more attractive…

And in case you were wondering where all my tools, glass and gallery furniture are, well, take a look:

It’s just stacks and stack of boxes and furniture in the rest of the basement…so sad. 🙁 Oh yeah and that brown paint; you can say “buh-bye” to that!

So in ONE WEEK this room will start it’s transformation!

Until next week…
